Dynamic stretching is a great way to both lengthen muscles as well as get them activated prior to an activity.
The Straddle stretch lengthens the hip adductor muscles (groin region) and then when put on a stretch requires them to fire to stand back up.
This is a great way to warm up muscles prior to activities that require the adductors to fire rapidly, such as running, squats, or Olympic lifting, and get them ready to work rather than just doing a static stretch and lengthening the muscles.
